Hi all
My heating system hums.
I always thought that it was the pump that was humming, but today have listened closely (with my kid's stethascope!) and the noise seems to come from the mid position valve.
The noise changes in pitch if I change the pump speed, and stops when the pump stops. It is quite loud, and sound a bits like someone is hoovering in the next room! It is definitely not coming from the boiler.
Does any one think change the mid position valve would help?
The system is reasonably balanced. It makes the noise on both heating and hot water settings.
The system is a 60K BTU open vented boiler (Halstead), a Wilo Gold 60 pump, a Seimens valve.
Any thoughts most appreciated on how to quieten the system
Thanks
