Hi folks, new guy with NO knowledge of plumbing so apologies in advance..

RIGHT,

so I've gone to program my central heating timers in for this cold weather and I'm experiencing the following problems..

Firstly my central heating only works when my hot water is on. At other times there is status '0' showing and despite the thermostat 'clicking' when turned up the boiler doesn't kick in nor does the status code change...

Secondly when the central heating is on (at the same time as hot water) only two radiators are working.
I've bled all radiators with a little air in one, but still no joy, I've also unscrewed the dials and ensured all of the pins are springing which they are quite freely.
I've tried turning the working radiators off to 'force' the others into action one at a time but with no joy.

Any help in lamens terms much appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance...

Ah yes, one of those activator thingys? Yes beside my hot water tank upstairs. It has auto and manual. Set to auto and I've given the selector switch a wiggle and a smack...

My guess....... the motor has failed and the valve is probably letting by because of some deposits stuck in the valve body.

I stand by my last post. Your cylinder stat could do with turning up a bit aswell ;)

Is the motor in the 4th pic down? Is there anything I can do to it or is it a replacement job? Was replaced 18 months ago... :-/

Also would this be the cause of all the issues?

Thanks..

The 4th picture down is the circulator(pump). The motor is inside the actuator on the motorised valve, you can buy replacements but i would advise you get someone in to do it.

Been told that my boiler is showing status '0' when central heating is meant to be on due to lack of pressure. Any help on this avenue?
