IDEAL classic SE12 FF ignition problems

i have an IDEAL classic SE12 FF wall hung boiler and the other day it has started to play up, basically what happens is the boiler will click click click on the electronic ignition and light for a few seconds and then go out, it will keep doing the same thing for about 5/10mins before it stays alight, would this be a faulty gas valve?

ive got a registered gas engineer coming next week and just want to get an idea of what the job will be as i dont want to be ripped off (bad experience in the past)

I suggest you start with an offer of a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and leave the GasSafe registered operative to get on with it. It's an easy to work on appliance, any hints of 'stop-watches' in view, and I'm out of there.
