has anybody ever come across automatic air vent leaking water, on the ideal isar he30. at first i thought heat exchanger had give up the ghost but ive just stripped boiler and it looks like the water which is brown has come out of the air vent and leaked all over the boiler. any suggestions apart from scraping the boiler.

Another very common problem with the Isar. The older M30100 with the air vent at the front, would often take out the pcb when it leaked.

Absolute pain in the ar*e to change as flue etc has to be stripped out of boiler to get at it..

If brown water is from left side of HE then it will be the HE knackered. Had these go as soon as 18 months

brown water is from right side of heat exchanger, definately looks like its come from air vent, taken vent out i shall fit new one before deciding on new boiler.
