Just installed a twin impeller pump onto our en-suite supply, and it will only switch on when the tap is operated (not the shower) so, I'm thinking that the shower isn't dropping enough pressure for the pump to sense and therefore switch on.....

It's an Armitage Shanks mixer (unsure of the model) and the pump's a Stuart Jetforce 75 (Mk7 Shower Booster Pump - Twin Impeller).

I'm pretty sure it is hooked up correctly as it will start up momentairily when the shower valve is turned towards the off........I just wondered if the shower valve has some restrictors in it, and how you get to them?

Thanks in advance

Neil

What's the vertical distance between the base of the cold storage cistern and the shower head (the bit that sprays)?

How is the pipe to the pump hot inlet connected to the cylinder?

What's the gauge of that pipe, and also the pipework from the pump to the shower valve?

What's the route of the pipework from pump to shower valve?

Where is the pump?
