I have just bought a Titan SDS drill and am following the instructions as to how to insert the drill bit. It says insert with a twisting motion until it latches, but I'm doing that but it's not getting very far in at all (you can still see part of the bit's grooves and it can be pulled out easily).
However, if I retract the locking sleeve I can push it in further (even though the manual states you only retract the locking sleeve when removing the drill bits). Then, it can't be pulled out, but it does have about 1.5 cm of play, in that it can be pulled at a little bit but not all the way.
Is this normal and something to do with the hammer action?
I've only used a normal drill in the past as I just need it for diy around the home, but the bricks are so tough that I want something with a little bit more oomph.
