Is a hob cut out 10mm too big front to back a problem?

I bought a new induction hob which I now find requires a 560 x 480 cut out. The cut out in the (quartz) work top for the old hob is 560 x 490. The new hob overall size is 590 x 520 so it would overlap the cut out by 15mm all round. Can this hob be fitted into the 10mm too big front to back cut out or should I send it back and get one which exactly fits in a 560 x 490 cut out? Thanks

Have you still got contact details for whoever did the worktop? Ask them- if it was chipboard I'd say you'd be fine but no idea with such posh stuff.
PS You'll almost certainly be fine if they've specced 15mm overhang front-back and 20mm left-right.

Yes, it's fine.
Don't forget the butyl tape when you drop the hob.

if your worried glue/pin/nail/ screw 6 or 12mm or something in-between strips on the back edge and pull the hob forward so the maximum overlap and seal will be on the front edge where the maximum use and flow will be
but as said 10mm is an accounting error so easilly accounted for without worry
