Hi, newbie here looking for a kindly soul to offer some help.
1950's house. I believe it is cavity wall. Brick outside, concrete inside, no plaster, 270mm thick with external concrete? cladding. The cladding seems to stop in front of the dpc with the bricks below covered in some old black mastic which is now flaking off. Some of the brickwork requires re pointing. The bottom edge of the clading is not in great condition. There were areas of flat black mould on the inside of the wall at ground level, rising to about 3 feet up, mainly behind furniture.
Please see photos.
My question to those more knowledgable than myself is...
Is the external render bridging the dpc by resting in front of it by a couple of mm? Should i remove all the black mastic stuff to help the bricks breath? Can you point out the stuff I don't know to do or haven't thought of please?
I much appreciate any help and advice you can offer and thank you for your time!
