Is vinyl self-stick tile on a wall OK? With extra adhesive?

I'm thinking of installing the same tile that's already installed on my kitchen floor on the backsplash. The subsurface would be sanded masonite wallboard. Has anyone ever SUCCESSFULLY used self-stick vinyl tiles on a WALL? Could this be done with the tiles as-is, or perhaps with a SPECIAL ADHESIVE? I need a helpful "veteran" for this one -- I'm pretty handy, but have never attempted this one before, hate to make a mess and waste tile for nothing!

As long as the walls is smooth and use Unibond + water onto the tiles area then you should be okay.

Not sure what you have in your country,we use Unibond which helps to key the two products together
