HI,

I live in a block of flats. This morning i went for a shower and discovered there was no cold water coming out of the shower. The sink, nor the toilet have hot water either, both are 'upstream' of the shower (I think).

I have no idea what could have caused this isolated loss.

There has been no spluttering or knocking in the pipes. As far as I can tell the water comes in at one point int he flat. The hot water supply is fine. Any ideas?

What should I check before calling a plumber? BTW there is no work going on in the block and all my neighbours water is fine.

HI,

I left hte taps open for about an hour, then a loud noise and brown dirt blasted throught the pipes and then it was clear,
what was that????

Perhaps someone had the supply turned off whilst working on the cold pipes, or the water company were doing work in the road?

Sounds like rust or gunk coming out.
