Hello

I have just finished laying a bamboo floor accross half a room (the dining half of a kitchen/dining room.) The kitchen part is slate tiles laid as evenly as slate can be (i.e. not very.)

I have laid the last floorboard about 1.5-2 inches from the tiled floor and have found on the internet a 'flush reducer' which looks like it would do the job of straddling the gap and of allowing for the height difference, the floor is 15 mm thick and sits about 13-14 mm higher than the slate.

The problem is I have finished with the groove facing towards me and all the finishing pieces I have found also have grooves. Is there any way of joining 2 grooved pieces together? I was thinking of something along the lines of biscuits glued into place across the length of the board and then attaching the finishing piece to that? Is this possible? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Richard

yes you can do this. You could do with a biscuit cutter tho so you and fit them correctly and also every 6 inch or so to stop any movement. you could also try and get some plywood the same thickness as groove and cut to correct width between the 2 grooves and pva into place.
