Afternoon all
We're in the process of buying a bungalow which we're intending to extent.
I'm in the process of drawing up proposed plans which I can submit to BC once we're ready.
One thing I'm finding difficult is joining the roofs. The existing roof is hipped at both ends. I'm proposing to build a gable roof (around 3.6m wide, 15 degree pitch) parallel to this (i.e..the ridges would run parallel)
I've seen all the box valley details etc for where the eaves meet, however could I peel the existing roof back and sit the new rafters on the existing wall plate, to give a bit more head height in the extension, and sit the box gutter across these (on plywood)? Is this typically done?
Cheers
