The heater works but the hot air on the driver sude blows away from my feet and is useless. I am wondering if there should be a deflector. The air blows horizontaly. Help. Can anyone with a k12 have a look?

Hello, thankyou for your suggestion. My wife has the car at work just now but I will look tomorrow. not sure what it should look like.

Above the soft trim you’ll see the steering column and all the associated wiring.
Run the engine and turn the fan on full. If there is any ducting missing or loose you’ll see and feel any air escaping.
At the same time check that the pollen filter cover is on.....that may be in the passenger side footwell.

Hi
I had a look this morning and nothing missing or disconnected. Unfortunately it is the computerised climate control model. There is plenty of air on the upper vents so doubt it is the pollen filter. I am suspecting that the mechanical flap is either sticking or the computer is not opening the foot bit properly. Think I need to open it all up but my wife needs the car every 5 minutes and I do not want her to lose all the heating till the hols. Have not found the pollen filter cover and cant find a photo on the internet yet.

If it has climate, it is probably an actuator motor that controls the direction of the air.
Called a mode actuator
2007 UK Micra part number 27731AX600 (do check yourself)
If you are in France with LHD, this may not be suitable.

I had one fail on a Kia. That was a blend actuator that mixes hot/cold to get the right temp.
I replaced the motor (generic ebay) for less than £10. Whole actuator was £150 or so from Kia.

Hello and thanks for the part number etc. Fortunately its an ex british RHD so I would be able to order the part using old uk registration number. Probably beyond me to do but I would be able to get the parts and get local garage to do. If not they would get from Nissan and cost an arm and a leg. If I can find a you tube video with which screws to undo then I could probably cope. Might be best to get a Haynes. I will at least need to see if it is opening or not. Thankyou again for the people taking the time to think about it.

PS. Was going to suggest the Micra Club (used for our K11s) but looks like you already posted

An Auto AC specialist should have come across this sort of thing before if you are not confident in doing it yourself.

Possibly, but not guaranteed. My local garage will only fit parts he buys. The reason he gives is that people buy e-bay parts that don't fit properly and he has extra work to make them fit, plus they are more likely to be defective and he doesn't want the bother. There is also the obvious point that he is not making any money on purchase/re-sale of that part.

Some climate systems have a calibration procedure which can be carried out via the buttons to reset motor positions etc, have a google search to see if yours does.
