I understand that installing laminate over original parquet flooring is a bad idea due to moisture coming through the floor, getting trapped and blowing the concrete/parquet. However, if there is a DPM beneath the concrete slab, would it then be OK to put laminate over parquet? The reason I ask is because we have original parquet through much of our 1930s house, however about 20 years ago a section was dug out, DPM and new concrete put down and original parquet re-layed on top. It is this section we are wondering if we'd get away with laminating?
