How easy and costly is it for me to transfer a small piece of land (5m x 2.5m) between two neighbouring plots that I own? Neither plot is mortgaged.

Is it feasible for me to do this as a novice or should we seek guidance from a conveyencer or similiar?

What is a typical lead-time for this type of transfer.

(Ps, we're in England if that has a specific bearing)

Thanks - interesting story but not sure it answers my question ;)

It may or may not be possible, depending on the circumstances affecting each piece of land. Only the land registry will be able to tell you, but essentially they will only merge titles if the two are the same in every respect with regards to covenants, charges, tenure and other matters affecting the title.. I think it would likely involve two transactions too - one to split and one to merge
