Laptop to tv ?????

hello does anyone know about conecting a laptop to your tv I have conected my laptop to the tv with a SVGA cable and nothing is happening is there something i need to do on the laptop ??????????????? Help very much apreciated

Is it not connected using an s-video cable ?.(little round 5/6 pin)

Then you use your FN key with maybe F10/F11 to flick from laptop screen to external display.

I too wondered, i thought it may be f**k nose (knows) then i though function, then i googled see here

Found the fn key and got it sorted. Thanks very much 4 your help mate
