laying laminate on "dished" floor

i have a bedroom floor that is is dished in the middle . What is the best way to pack it out to get a reasonably level start to lay T&g laminate floor its about !/2 inch lower in the middle ,with a straight edge

Is it actually noticable when the bed and furniture are in the room? Is it evn noticable when there's nothing in the room and you are standing up? Probably not and I think you are most likely worrying about nothing.
That said (and assuming it's a wooden floor) if you intend to go ahead then use ply. I've worked on floors that have dipped by several inches and built it up with ply , feathering it down to match the exsisting floor with a power planer.
 
its a floorboards .It is going to be noticable the dip is in the part of the bedroom that is viewed as you stand at the door , i believe if is caused by previous owner removing dividing wall downstairs to create a "through lounge That said i will try as you say to pack with ply

Although I can't see the floor colasping , if a wall has been removed from below you may consider getting a structural engineer or even a local builder in to check it even if only for peace of mind.
