I have an LG 32 inch tv which is about 2 & 1/2 years old was working fine until 4 weeks ago when a thin horizontal line appeared about 4 inches from the top of the screen,
This was annoying enough but then above the line and below the line were different shades.
Then all below the line went blank so is now unwatchable.
Does anyone have any ideas or is it time for a new one.
I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Thanks, but do you have an idea what it could be?
No idea. Are any capacitors bulging? If so, then it could be a cheap DIY repair.

Without knowing even the model number, it's impossible to search for other reports on the Internet. Have you searched?

Does anyone know of a trustworthy tv repair man in the sheffield area ?

Haha. You'll be told either "beyond economic repair - give you a tenner for spares" or "£200 - £300 for a new board".

However, if you want to risk it, this guy knows his stuff:
