Hi guys i was working around the fireplace in our 1930s property lastnite and noticed the half bricks that form the small arch have become very loose and infact two have come away completely.I noticed slight movement above the arch aswell but nothing major.....yet.I cant find a lintel so wonder if the fact they are/was all tied in makes up for this.What are my options,knock the arch out until the i come to the straight row of bricks and add a lintel or.....?Any advice much appreciated.Cheers

Most likely The arch is the lintel if you know what i mean.
You'd want to replace the bricks asap or add a lintel instead if you think the arch isn't up to the job.
Don't panic it will not fall down or anything but you may loose a triangle of bricks directly above the lintel and have to rebuild them
