I want to move the position of the WC in my flat - this means laying in a new soil pipe & stack which obviously has to connect onto the sewer main.

Does anyone have any advice on how to locate the sewer pipe that lies somewhere underneath my back garden? The present soil stack is at the back of my flat so the sewer main has to be there somewhere. I have tried the local council as well as the water authority neither of who could help me.

Thanks in advance.

Should be a "manhole" cover that lets you have access to the pipes. (unless some one has covered it over) Or it may run underground into next door and the manhole cover may be there.

Could you not extend the existing soil stack?

It's too far away to extend (8/9m) around the side of the property.

I will try to locate the manhole cover and determine where it lies from that.

Cheers.
