Hi can someone help please?

i'm a jobbing carpenter and have been asked to insulate a loft. To be honest, I've not actually done this before although im led to believe its simple!?!?

ive been up there and the loft is bare. Plain 4x2 joists with the top of the plaster and lath ceiling exposed between each one.

Am I right in saying that I should lay 100mm loft roll in between each one and then a minimum of 200mm OVER the rafters to bring it up to specification?

She would like to board it out at some point so was thinking, should I offer to lay celotex or something similar in between instead???

There is approx 76m2 in total.

I can figure out materials etc but how much could I charge per m2 for this job?

Many thanks

Unfortunately not much, as you can get loft insulation supplied and fitted for £200.[/quote]

And totally free of charge if you are a British Gas fuel customer

As said not much money in the insulation part of the job but if the customer wants to board out the loft area it would need additional timber work to raise the heights and there should be scope for profit there.
