D'you have to twist the wires together? [Yuk.....]

I last saw these on the flu fittings in my Mum's kitchen that were installed in 1963... :eek:

The ones I saw on display could be put on without you yourself having to twist the wires. Joined 4 2.5 mm2 solids (already stripped) without any tools.

Didn't buy any tho.
 
They've been in most of our wholesales for the last 12 months, with a demo box on the counter with 6inch pre cut lengths of solid 2.5mm. They hold tight, but I'm yet to be convinced.
 
I think these are only any use on stranded conductors. Wouldn't like to use them on solid!
They are commonplace in the USA, I believe, and used all the time on Romex, so they must be sound, given how fantastic their standards are.
