max shower cable length

hi, i intend to exchange shower unit in the bathroom, existing shower is connected by about 12m of 6mm2 cable, what is the max kw shower i can connect to this, or should i just upgrade to 10mm as some of the 9.8kw mira showers ay they need 10mm2

One of the regulations state that you 'shall take account' of manufacturers instructions.

Having said that the 6mm² cable has a current carrying capacity in ideal conditions (i.e. not through conduit or insulation) of 46A.
That is 10.58kA @ 230V. Although unwise to be 'right on the limit'.

Through conduit - 38A
Through insulation - could only be 23A

10mm² cable would obviously be better.

Cable length of 12m is well within any limitations.
