My stackable Maytag washer/dryer Model LSE1000 has developed the following problem:
No matter what wash cycle or load size setting it fills and starts to agitatew and then stops, admits more water , and agitates for less than a minute and stops , admits more water, etc, etc until it fills enough to float the little center cap on the tub spindle. You have to manually move it through the remaining cycles. It does not overfill to the point of overflow but it just stopsthe cycle.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

I would check out the water level switch for sure. Especially the air tube thats connected to it for cracks or leaks. If the tube is leaking air slowly the washer could have the same symptoms that you have described.
