Gate light wired with MICC
Connection at lamp broken so need to run new cable

Never used MICC before, might get the tools and have a few attempts in the shed, but plan to run in something else.

But I am curious how would MICC be terminated at the lamp holder properly.

Is MICC re workable when its been in place for some time, my experience is that the cable splits when being moved

Any pointers

Thanks

It looks to me as though the break is after the pot, so it should still be ok.

It looks at though the cable just needs re-fixing and taking inside the fitting.

I would be inclined to terminate in a galvanised box and use black flex to the fitting.
The way that cable enters now is likely to allow water into the top of the lampholder and i suspect the reason for the gunk and tape surrounding it.
