Hi, could anyone please tell me if there are any minimum sizes that kitchens need to be.I live in a circa 1925 (approx) house the kitchen only measures 2.20 m x 2.25 m. Just wondering if there are any grants available to extend this area. Any advice gratefully recieved.
Thanks

No minimum room size, although for planning on new build you would have to show that the kitchen would be 'big enough' ie draw a cooker and a sink on the plan.

That would not be retrospective though.

Years ago you could get grants if you didn't have an indoor lavvy, I don't know if they're still available, but not for extending an existing kitchen.

Anyway 2.2 x 2.2 is spacious! I've seen new build 3-bed flats with smaller kitchens.
