Have you checked the connections at the switch and shower? Incase ones come loose etc

You will need the following tool.
1) An approved voltage tester. This will give a reading/indicatio if there is 230v between live to neutral, live to earth. Not much to buy. This is slightly better the a neon screwdriver which just indicats a live voltage of between 5v-230v only on the red(now brown)cable.

The neon light on the 45A pull switch will only light up if there are both live and neutral working together t the switch, whic her is the case.

1)Remove the shower front panel and put your new teste between the Live and neutral block. If the switch is onyou should have 230v here.
2) Next test between the live and earth you should have 230V here too.
3) Next test between neutral and earth you should have 0v here as both earth and neutral are a common connection. (both are connected togthere at the star point on the electricit boards side).

If you don't have any of the above readings then fault is to do with the house wiring from the mains board tothe shower somewhere.

If you do have all the above readings then it's the however thats faulty, very common on elec showers. It would be cheaper to buy a new one then to start fault finding within the shower and replacing parts.

Hope this helps, Phil

Neons will not strike until the voltage across the electrodes has reached 70-80 volts.

An approved voltage tester - or a multimeter - is a lot better than a neon screwdriver. As well as the inherent safety issue with these, they only indicate there is some sort of voltage on the live conductor.
Your showeer to work you need 230 volts between the live and neutral wires and a neon screwdriver will not tell you if have a broken neutral connection.

Thanks for the help and quick replys, looks like its gona be a new shower
then
