Mixed feelings on this one, as you say, it will warn people, but as Moz said, you could be in the **** if you look like any of them.
A LONG time ago, a bloke I know - not a mate, just knew him, got done as a sex offender, he was 18, bagged of in a club with a 15 yr old (not far of 16) got her preggers, went to jail, killed himself, aparantly the WEEK AFTER he got nicked she was back in the same club, all tarted up and by all accounts looked (and said) she was much older. IMO that doesnt make the bloke an offender at all- rather a victim...
Real pervs of course should be lined up and shot along with the granny bashers etc.

I was sat on the fence outside the front of my house once (had forgotten my keys, waiting for someone else to get home), and a policeman came walking down the road (this in itself is unusual round here). He came onto the driveway and started asking where I was the other morning I told him and questionned why he wanted to know. He said there had been an "incident" and the description given by the victim matched me! I told him, case of mistaken identity. He walked away with a suspicious look on his face.
And I just happened to be sat outside the front of my house, for the first time in 20 years, while this bobby was walking past, for the first time in 20 years.
For some things, publishing faces is a good idea. Being banned from pubs and off licenses for example, where said venues recieve photos only, not in the public domain. However, for this sort of stuff, publishing photos nationally will only end in tears for all concerned.
Is there no trust these days? Alesha, this is your new daddy. The police say you can trust him! Whats the world coming to?

Unfortunately this is still all too common, underage drinking in pubs. I really dont know how, because I can tell them a mile off, those who are under 18. Why do they get let in? Why do they get served? "because they looked 18!" This is ALWAYS the excuse given by people who get caught. They have to look 21. Not 18. If this rule was enforced better, underage drinking would half. If trading standards did half as many test purchases on pubs as they do in offys, maybe pubs would enforce the rules better!

With regard to naming SOs and making pix available .. What if your name is the same and you look similar?
The poor old law abiding Smith lot, given their numbers in the community would be concerned... and not alone

sex beasts are everywhere they are your neighbor /man in your community , wether they act on these deviant sexual ways is slight ...
I really think there is no more threat than say 30 years ago , its only because we are more open in discussing nonces now ...
