We had two walls skimmed recently as they were in really poor condition but the other walls seemed okay - they had never been painted but had wallpaper on them which we removed.
I did a mist coat on all the walls (one coat) using a matt white with about 30% water 70% paint.
The newly plastered walls have come out fine, but the older plaster has come out patchy and thin (see pics).
The old walls were prepped by sanding lightly and washing down with sugar soap (as there was bits of paste still on the surface).
Any idea why this has gone like this? I intend to put 2 emulsion coats on top of these coats (not watered down) - it is Crown matt paint - will this be sufficient?
