I want to convert our C-plan setup to fully pumped system. The boiler has outlet and return pipes at both sides, one to the HW circuit and the other to the CH circuit. Do I have to join these together or can I block one side off and run only from the other side? Perhaps I only need join the outlets and connect via a T jnuction to the pump in a Y-plan arrangement, but leave the two return connections to the boiler as they are.

What is easiest? Is it acceptable to block one side off? Or to join the two sides together? Or just join the outlets?

All help appreciated.

I've not seen it on an oil boiler, but on older gas boilers, one flow and one return only are used. The others are blanked off.
