Mixer tap only running warm, not hot

Hi,

I was wondering if someone on this forum could help me. We had a new bathroom fitted about a year ago and in the past few weeks the bath mixer tap has stopped giving out hot water. We have a combi boiler and an armitage shank tap that looks like the Sandringham SL model.

All other taps and the shower still give out hot water so I don't think the problem is with the boiler. The water pressure hasn't dropped on the bath tap but it just won't get above luke warm. Is there anything we can do, or do we have to get a plumber in?

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

does it get hot if you reduce the flow ?

No, if it's turned as far as possible to the hot side it only gets tepid whatever level of flow we have it on.

It may be worth removing the bath panel and checking beneath the tap - some new installations have an antiscald thermostatic mixer fitted before the pipes connect to the taps.

If it's fitted, it may be that this is cooling the water from the tap.
