We're converting our garage which is about 50% underground (we're built into a slope). I noticed that there is moisture in the cavity (checking for insulation found droplets of water on the polystyrene beads).
Buiding Regs have suggested a vapour barrier attached to inside wall then build a stud partition 1" from it and plaster over this. But what happens to the moisture that gets in? If its trapped by the barrier does it evaporate and go up (and cause damp in our living room above) or condense and collect?
Is this a good solution?
