Not sure I know all the terms but here goes...

Think its a vented, open, conventional single tank system, want to move a first floor rad about two feet to the left. Cold tank and boiler are in the attic and immersion is on the ground floor.

Figuring I need to drain the system, at least the top half; cut the rad out and move the connections; reconnect and re-fill...

Then pray to the god of flux and hope all is good in the land of air traps and corrosion...

Sound good?

Cheers! :)

As you stated sounds correct just close off the rest of the rads and just drain the rad to be removed and pipework.

Of course you will need to use compression fittings as flux and water do not mix.
Add an inhibitor when refilling and you may need to balance the rad.
Good luck
Pete
