multi fuel heating system

Do you know if it is possible to design a multi fuel heating system: NG, wood (log or pellet) and sun. Is it going to work well? The reason for multi fuel is for convenience during holidays or when running out of wood or just if someone staying in the house doesn't know how to use the wood boiler.

Yes it is possible, but it's a bit more complex than a standard system, and of course this means it's more expensive. Solar (sun) is generally used for heating tap water rather than your house.
