Hi
Can anyone suggest possible sources of a small damp patch that's appeared next to our front door? The house has thick 600 thick stone walls, and while it is technically an internal wall it is actually the end of the external one (if you know what I mean) being the doorway.
There doesn't seem to be any damp anywhere else (including the other side of the doorway) - our survey earlier this year also didn't find any.
I've sanded off most of the bubbling/flaking paint and knocked off the loose skim coat. There's some evidence of damp under the skim coat.
Any thoughts on the source of this would be appreciated. It's not a repair we would tackle ourselves but not sure who we would call in to fix this (general builder)??
