Sorry for the crudeness of the diagram but would someone mind taking a look at how I’m looking to set up the following in a newly built porch:
  • 2 x indoor downlights (switched)
  • 2 x outdoor wall lights (switched)
  • Power supply to 12-16v transformer for a Nest Hello doorbell.
  • Route supply back out of porch to other external lights
Other than general DIY I’m totally naive with electrics so any help you guys can provide would be MUCH appreciated.

Although not used, you need to extend ground to both downlights. (Your diagram shows it ending at first).

I would suggest you consider (but not necessary) that if you can you put the wire to the other external lights also to the switch. Then you are future proofed if you want a separate switch for those.

Also consider putting a surface mounted PIR on the porch lights.

Thanks a lot guys, I do actually have a PIR sensor but the red cedar I’ve put up is too nice to mount anything more than I have to! It probably does make sense to have them on a sensor though...
