Hi all, hoping somebody can help. I'm planning on ripping out my current UPVC porch and sliding doors and then build two dwarf walls topped with coping stone. I then plan to sit four oak post on them to hold up the existing concrete roof. (Currently, there is one existing post sat behind where no. 2 post would go).
Does anyone have any experience with building oak porches? In my image attached, I've labeled 1-4 for the 150mm oak posts. Would I need more oak supports labeled 5-7 and 8-9?
I was thinking I might be able to skip 8-9 as this would just be sat puddled in water?
Also, I'm considering whether adding glass to 10 and 11 would be a good idea? Is this a DIY task? should I call in the pros? any pros on here live in Hampshire?
