Hi all
Suggestions welcome for the following problem.
Moved two rads on ground floor, extending 8mm pipework, having drained down the whole system. After refilling, water is not heating up as it should i.e. no domestic hot water, unless immersion is used.
System is open vented gravity hot water and open vented pumped central heating, gas boiler. Is the problem most likely an air lock? How important is it to bleed the circulating pump, cos it is in a most inaccessible position.
Thanks in advance of any advice

you said the heating is ok so why bleed the pump.
if its gravity hot water as you say i would say you have a airlock maybe in the cylinder coil

do the rads heat up??

If so then the pump is fine.

You need to see if there is an air blead point on your cylider flow and return, althought most likley the cold feed and expansion will join in here.

Thanks for the advice on the "no hot water" topic.
If the problem is an airlock in the coil, how best to solve that problem? Bleeding at the bleed point doesn't seem to have shifted the airlock. Valves seem to be working OK.Any tips on shifting a stubborn airlock?

turn your cold tap on downstairsthe block it with your hand that should push any airlock out.
