Hi Folks,

Had a little accident involving a screw going through a hot water pipe. The system was drained down and the leak fixed but now the system will not heat any water.

Its an indirect fed system with the boiler feeding the water and central heating. The boiler is heating water and the central heating works but the water tank is not being heated. The pipe work up to the hot water tank is getting hot but the outlet is stone cold and so is the contents. Its like there is a blockage in the cold water return.

Does any of that make sense?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

J

It does make sense, you have an air lock.

Do a quick search for how to remove ;)

I have had a quick search of the forum and cant find anything about how to cure an airlock.

Any suggestions?

I have bled the air from a valve at the input to the hot water tank and all the radiators but can find anywhere else that could cause a problem.
