none of the hot water taps have water coming out. turned of water to fix a leak & since turning the water back on, no water comes out of the hot taps although the cold taps are fine. Any ideas would be grateful :?: :?: :?:

Hot water is notoriously shy. It may be hiding round a bend in the pipe work. Take off one of the hot taps and shine a torch down the pipe to see if there is any hot water lurking there. If you spot any try coaxing it out with a piece of lightly buttered toast or by whistling Brahms lullaby. In certain areas of the country, depending on water hardness it may be necessary to yap excitedly near the hot water pipe work in an attempt to scare the hot water to a tap.
If none of the above works try posting a bit more information about what type of system you have.

Air lock???

Follow advice in FAQ ( and read them first in future! ).

If its not an air lock then the valve you used to turn the water off may have broken and has not turned on again. You could try opening the connections either side and see if you get wet.

If the valve you turned off had a "red corrugated" valve handle ,then you have a gatevalve, and they commonly break inside shut  If you just keep turning and nothing happens -it`s broke

Perchance a lack of the clear stuff in the header tank????

He says the cold taps are fine so the cistern is probably full !
