Question - Can I fit a Bentone ST 146 K burner upside down?
Will it run normally?
Any problems likely?
.
Why upside down ? - there is enough space from the floor to the burner inlet pipe (blast tube) for this burner to fit upside down,
but not the right way up.
The Bentone would be a replacement burner.

Thanks for any help

Kind of interesting if it is a balanced flue and needs a hose for air supply attached........ just a thought.

Well if it's a replacement on balanced flue it would likely fit as the original did, if it's not BF, er, then it would likely fit as the original did.

Thanks for replies.

I phoned Bentone UK who said that it makes difference whether the Solenoid is the correct way up, or not.

If the burner is upside down then the solenoid may not work,
because some weight is in the wrong place, inside the solenoid.

Just wondered if anyone knows more about this idea.

" Right way Up "
= same as in the pictures on web pages for Bentone ST146 K .

But there is no space to fit it this way. hence the question - will it work if upside down.

Boiler is a Trianco TSO with an existing Minette burner, installed in 1970 and may give up soon. Its a bit noisy. Cannot lubricate the bearings.

The much-newer Bentone burner could be got as a replacement / spare / backup. But will it work? ?

Thanks for your help.
