Hello
I have lifted some old lino that is stuck to a concrete slab floor and underneath is a mixture of hairy / furry underlay and dark sticky black glue. I am wondering:
a) is there any chemical product which would strip it quickly - at the mo I'm going at it with a scraper and a heat gun, and I can see its going to take ages, and then still needs a good scrub with some white spirit and steel wool after to get rid of the remnants of the glue.
b) that furry undelay matting wouldn't be asbestos would it? the flat dates from the late 1960s and I think the lino was installed in the 1970s. Its hairy, furry undelay matting, it seems to burn up with the heat gun. Just not sure if it is something I need to speak to the council about?
any tips very gratefully received!
