outdoor lighting wiring?

I have just recently installed 3 wall lights outside in my garden. They are not currently attached to any mains in the house as im unsure if they can be wired into a new switch and added to the lighting loop? As they are outside lights do they need to be on an RCD or seperate loop to the lighting in the house to be fused seperate on the consumer unit?

When you applied for Building Regulations approval what did you say would be the way you'd comply with P1?
