I am over boarding a kitchen ceiling and I was wondering if I need to stagger the boards or whether or not it doesent matter.

I am fitting 8ft4ft boards in a row and then need to cut boards on the ends to extend them by a foot as the width of the room is 9ft.

Also

I am going to stick web over the joints and use "easy fill" over the joints.

Ii assume i don't need tapered boards.. Is this the correct way?

I helped a dryliner once for a while and I can't fully remember as nowadays normally it just gets over set.

Any Help

always stagger if you can
i'd prefer to plaster a ceiling, however, if you continue
you need longer tapered boards
i know you can get 9 x 4 boards but i'm not sure if they can be tapered, check with a merchant.

use 12.5 boards 8*4 will be sound and if you taping and jointing i would use tapered edge boards, screw the boards instead of nailing they dont pop use 50mm screws ;)

i always find it rough to tape and fill the ends of the tapered boards which aren't tapered?
assuming his width of 9 foot is the smallest measure!
