I've seen some 1930s internal doors for sale which have been stripped of their paint by dipping them.

I've read that dipping doors can potentially weaken them compared to stripping the paint off by hand.

If the dipping process has weakened the doors, will it be relatively easy to observe? Is the weakening something which happens immediately after dipping, or is it something which will not necessarily be noticeable for some time after?

I've seen dipped doors where the mortises have been loose and where the wedges have fallen out during the dip process. If the doors are solid now, they should stay that way. It's only when the wedges come out that you get issues.

yea ive dipped victorian doors, most have come out as expected, however it all depends on the quality and condition of the door
