Painting Ceilings.

I would like to paint my ceiling with a rippled paint.

I would like to know, what is the best roller pile to use to achieve a soft ripple effect? I don't wan't it completely flat, nor do I want it spiky looking!

What pile is best for a soft ripple effect on ceilings? - Long Pile, Medium Pile or a Short Pile?

If anyone has had any experience in this, I would be grateful, thank you.

I presume you are referring to a ripple(stipple) style roller? There are roller sleeves that are dedicated to stipple FX? The less ripple you want, the shorter the pile you should buy.
