I recently built out the inside of a cupboard with MDF shelving and having now painted it with gloss paint, the end finish is very rough.
Does any one have any tips for getting a smooth finish on MDF?
As it is, it doesn't matter for these shelves, but I was planning to make some doors out of mdf panels and paint them with gloss, so the finish is very important.
One point I thought, was that I didn't use a primer/base coat, just applied an extra coat of gloss. Would it make a difference to the finish if I did use a base coat/primer?
Thanks for any ideas
