painting the front of my house

hello, im looking for some advice, i intend to paint the front of my house as soon as possible work permiting i live on a fairly busy street with a fair amount of traffic the walls are currently covered with sparing (i think thats what its called, little stones) do i need an undercoat and whats the best paint to get bearing in mind the traffic etc.

Sounds like pebble dashing. In the area you mention i would use Dulux "All seasons" oil based masonry paint. Rain proof in 15 mins aswell.
