Hi,
My neighbour has served me with a Party Wall Notice.
I replied by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery on the 13th day after receiving the Notice, to acknowledge the Notice - and signed the enxlosed acknowledgement form to say we were in 'Dispute', and wished to appoint our own surveyor (ie not an agreed surveyor) - I wrote down contact details of my preferred surveyor on the acknowledgement form, which has been sent back.
I have just received an email from my Party Wall Surveyor, stating:

Please be aware that we have been contacted by the building owner that the 14 days have now expired and no formal appointment have been made therefore he will be serving a 10-day reminder under which you need to formalise the appointment of a surveyor (by signing the attached letter). Should you fail to do so in timely manner Mr **** will have the ability to appoint a surveyor on your behalf and this would be one of his choice.

I assume as long as I appoint my surveyopr within the 10 day period, my neighbour cannot appoint one on my behalf.
