Hi guys. I need to freeze a 15mm mains pipe as the stop cock is broken and i need to tee off the rising main to run a feed pipe to the electric shower. This is a block of flat and the guy does not know where the common stop cock is, therefore i was thinking of freezing the rising main pipe feeding the cwsc and tee off there. I want to make sure that the pipe is frozen before i cut in the pipe so my question is:
1) After i have left the jacket on the pipe for whatever time the can says, can i test whether the ice plug has formed by pushing down the float valve in the cwsc to see whether there is any water coming up and and down in the cwsc before i cut in the pipe? Thanks again for your time.
